God never promised you freedom from your troubles. But He does offer peace as He walks with you and guides you through.
We get in trouble when we ignore God and pursue our own desires. When doing so, it may make you happy for a moment, but a pattern of disobedience will eventually lead you into bondage.
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
Direct me in the path of your commands, for there I find delight.
My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life.
May your unfailing love be my comfort, according to your promise to your servant.
Shout for joy, you heavens; rejoice, you earth; burst into song, you mountains! For the Lord comforts his people and will have compassion on his afflicted ones.
