God desires to have a personal relationship with you and is searching for you and striving to have that relationship now!
A “personal relationship” is when two beings personally have a close connection with each other. They care about the other, trust them, commit to them, depend on them, love them, and believe in them. It is intimate and they desire to communicate with each other.
So how do you have a personal relationship with God? First, you must believe in Him and what the Bible has revealed about Him is true. And just like you have a personal relationship with your spouse, family members, and friends, similarly, you can have a personal relationship with God.
To develop your personal relationship with God, you must get to know Him, not just know about Him. Many people go to church weekly and learn about God, but don’t really know Him (I know I did for years). Just like I could read everything about another person, I just know about them and don’t have a personal relationship with them.
Ways to build your personal relationship with God:
The following Podcast is a great example of developing a personal relationship with God and finding true peace:

Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.
[15] “If you love me, keep my commands. [16] And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— [17] the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be[a] in you.
His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.
Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.
[3] Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. [4] For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love [5] he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— [6] to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.
[12] Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. [13] Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. [14] And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
[1] The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. [2] He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, [3] he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. [4] Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. [5] You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. [6] Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
